The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) has been made aware of potential shortages of IV fluids caused by Hurricane Helene’s flooding of Baxter International’s North Cove IV fluid manufacturing plant in North Carolina. ODH Director, Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff recently released a letter that gives an update about the state’s efforts to address this issue, as well as updates from Baxter and the federal government.
OAASC will continue to monitor this situation as it develops and will update members as quickly as possible. If you have any questions, please contact Heidi at our office: sam@oaasc.net.
