OAASC Leadership has discussion with Ohio Department of Health...

The OAASC Leadership Team had a conference call today with the Ohio Department of Health to discuss the Order issued yesterday by Dr. Acton on Elective Surgeries. The ordered issued yesterday deemed necessary to preserve PPE in Ohio.  The following are the items that we were able to get clarification on:

CLARIFICATIONS ON SURGERIES AND PROCEDURES:

ODH has asked all centers to review the full Order and use the included guidance to determine if surgeries or procedures can be delayed to preserve PPE.  You can access the order here.

CLARIFCATION ON LICENSE RENEWALS:

ODH is checking to see how license renewals that are due during this pandemic will be handled. Additional information will be forthcoming.

SUPPORTING YOUR COMMUNITIES:

For those centers and staff that would like to assist their communities, ODH encourages you to contact your regional health coordinators to discuss what and where assistance is needed. Ohio’s 8 Regional Healthcare Coordinators are available on ODH’s website at https://odh.ohio.gov/wps/portal/gov/odh/about-us/offices-bureaus-and-departments/bhp/resources/hospital-preparedness-program (click on the “Find My Healthcare Coalition” tab).

ODH has agreed to work with OAASC to address any issues or concerns that the ASC’s have throughout Ohio. Many of your questions are questions that other members have, too.  Please send all questions to Heidi Moss at sam@oaasc.net and she will compile them, we will remit to ODH and send the answers out to all members to ensure that we have consistency throughout Ohio.
