Job Summary

  • Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Demonstrates competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning, and consistently produces high-quality images.
  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in the use of imaging equipment.
  • Troubleshoots equipment problems.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate personnel.
  • Demonstrates awareness of protocol for dealing with malfunctioning equipment; tracks progress of repairs and service.
  • Practices radiation safety for self and patient – wears radiological monitoring devices and adheres to principles of radiation protection.
  • Assures all persons within the operating room/treatment room are protected from radiation scatter.
  • Assists physician with imaging during procedures.
  • Practices aseptic technique, isolation and infection control procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of facility’s policies and procedures.
  • Completes assigned procedures in a timely manner and assists in preparing the operating/procedure room for the next procedure.
  • Demonstrates age-specific competencies when providing radiologic care.
  • Remains current with all required inservices.
  • Ensures compliance with all Ohio radiological standards and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as may be appropriately required or assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS: Current license in STATE OF OHIO. Successful completion of BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support).

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology with one (1) or more years of related work experience preferred. Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE USING C-ARM IN THE OPERATING ROOM SETTING
