Charge Nurse
Gemini Surgery Center
BASIC PURPOSE:
To manage and supervise the clinical/patient care operations of Gemini Surgery Center achieving quality patient care provision while supporting the corporate initiatives of Gemini Surgery Center.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
Essential
- Works to assure uninterrupted quality patient care activities including:
a. Scheduling staff to meet patient care and process requirements.
b. Review of Patients to prevent delays in care, service and pain management. - Works closely with Director of Nursing and the Medical Director to support and implement Gemini Surgery Center policies and procedures to the maximum extent possible.
- Works with all personnel who contribute to the delivery of patient care services to help resolve problems and follow-up on outstanding issues. Ensures patient care is facilitated consistently and efficiently to meet the guidelines of AAAHC ensuring patient safety.
- Works with the Director of Nursing and Medical Director to develop patient care policies, procedures and processes as required.
- Functions as a front-line resource for all clinical personnel in assigned facility. Facilitates orientation of new employees mentoring and educating for optimum education and practice.
- Makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing and Medical Director regarding cost reduction and improvement initiatives including chart audits and data collection.
- Works with personnel to minimize inventory investment.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Must have a Associate’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent nursing management/administrative experience. Must possess a current State of Ohio license to practice as a registered nurse. Must possess strong analytical ability and be capable of using PC programs such as MS Office and Excel, experience with Mysis preferred but not required. Strong interpersonal skills along with a professional appearance and demeanor are required. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Some travel may be necessary.
